DDR5 offers more bandwidth and pulls ahead in memory-sensitive titles and productivity work, but for 1080p and 1440p gaming with a mid-range graphics card the difference is usually small. DDR4 also costs considerably less per gigabyte.

Should I choose micro-ATX or full ATX on AM4?

Micro-ATX saves money and fits smaller cases, and for a build with one graphics card and two M.2 drives you lose very little. Full ATX gives you more PCIe slots, usually better VRM heatsinks, more fan headers and more rear I/O. On this platform the more useful question is where the money goes: a $70 micro-ATX board plus more memory often serves a budget build better than a $160 ATX board with features that a mid-range Ryzen chip will never exercise.
