Why these standards exist
A bad power supply or an incompatible motherboard can cost a reader far more than the part itself. Gaming PC Components keeps the following editorial standards so that our guides to PSUs, boards, cases and cooling can be trusted.
No paid placements, ever
- Brands cannot pay to be included in a guide.
- We do not publish sponsored rankings.
- Advertisers and retailers have no input on our verdicts.
We earn affiliate commissions on qualifying purchases, described in our affiliate disclosure. This income does not influence our recommendations.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Our editors decide what we cover and what we recommend. We currently do not accept review units in exchange for coverage. If a free sample is ever received, or a contributor has a business relationship with a company in an article, we will state that in the article.
Sourcing rules
- Primary sources first: manufacturer spec sheets, manuals, QVLs and BIOS release notes.
- Independent measurements next: results from hardware review sites and PSU review sites for efficiency, ripple, temperatures and noise.
- Owner reports for durability and compatibility patterns, never as a substitute for a documented figure.
- No unsourced numbers. If we cannot cite it, we do not print it.
- Conflicting measurements: we compare test conditions such as load level, ambient temperature or fan curve, then explain the difference or show the range.
How we use AI
AI assists with research, outlining and first drafts. Human editors edit each article and verify every fact against its source. AI is not permitted to invent specifications or test results.
Keeping guides current
We review articles when new products launch, when firmware or BIOS changes matter, when prices move, and when readers send in reports. Updated articles carry the revision date.
