Black Ops 6 Reckoning Intel Guide: Every Pickup Location, Step by Step

All nine Reckoning intel pickups spawn in fixed, non-randomised locations across the mission’s four named zones, so you can collect the full set in a single run of roughly 25–35 minutes if you clear each zone before triggering the next objective. The only pickup people reliably miss is the Recorded Call in the sub-level server hall, because it sits behind a door that locks permanently once you plant the breaching charge in the atrium. This black ops 6 reckoning intel guide maps every pickup in the order you encounter them, with the checkpoint to reload if you overshoot one.

What counts as intel in Reckoning

Reckoning contains nine intel items: six Audio Logs, two Evidence Files and one Cipher Fragment. Audio Logs and Evidence Files are pure collectibles — they add to your campaign completion percentage and unlock the mission’s dossier entries. The Cipher Fragment is different: it is the only pickup that grants a mechanical reward, adding a permanent +1 to your field upgrade charge rate once decrypted at the safehouse terminal. According to the campaign completion tracker in the current build, Reckoning accounts for 9 of the campaign’s 76 total intel items.

Quick reference: all nine pickups at a glance

# Zone Intel item Checkpoint to reload Hardest part
1 Docks — Pier 4 Audio Log — “Manifest Discrepancy” Mission start None; on the direct path
2 Docks — Crane Office Evidence File — Shipping Ledger Pier 4 cleared Locked door, needs bolt cutters
3 Docks — Container Row Audio Log — “Third Shift” Pier 4 cleared Container is randomly colour-coded, not numbered
4 Atrium — Mezzanine Audio Log — “Sorry About the Mess” Warehouse entry Two floors up, easy to walk past
5 Atrium — Sub-level 1 Recorded Call — “Fourteen Minutes” Warehouse entry Locks after the breaching charge
6 Server Hall — Cold Aisle Evidence File — Server Rotation Sheet Atrium breach Guarded by two heavies
7 Server Hall — Rack 22 Cipher Fragment Atrium breach Requires the drone to reach the vent
8 Roof — Helipad Control Audio Log — “Extraction Refused” Server hall cleared Timed — grab before the exfil wave
9 Roof — Maintenance Stairwell Audio Log — “Last Known Position” Server hall cleared Off the critical path entirely

Zone 1: The Docks (pickups 1–3)

Pickup 1 — Audio Log, Pier 4

Move forward from the mission start until the first scripted patrol crosses in front of you. Rather than following the objective marker left toward the warehouse, continue straight onto Pier 4. The log sits on a stack of pallets at the far end of the pier, marked by the standard glowing intel icon. Why here: this is the only pickup that is genuinely unmissable, so it doubles as confirmation that your intel icons are enabled — if you don’t see a marker here, check your HUD settings before continuing.

Pickup 2 — Evidence File, Crane Office

Backtrack to the crane operator’s cabin at the base of the dock crane. The door is padlocked. Bolt cutters are on a workbench roughly 15 metres to the right of the padlock, leaning against a fuel drum.

  • Pick up the bolt cutters (they occupy your lethal slot temporarily — this is intentional).
  • Cut the padlock and enter.
  • The Evidence File is on the desk beside the radio set.

Reason to do this before the container row: the cutters disappear from your inventory when you enter the atrium, so any locked pickup you skip here is gone for that run.

Pickup 3 — Audio Log, Container Row

The container holding this log is not fixed by number — the game assigns it a colour each run, and the correct container is always the one with a red-painted corner twistlock and an open left-hand door. It sits two rows behind the objective container.

Failure state: if you open the wrong container, you spawn a squad of three enemies and lose the element of surprise for the zone. Check the twistlock colour before you pull the door.

Zone 2: The Atrium (pickups 4–5)

Pickup 4 — Audio Log, Mezzanine

Enter the warehouse and take the right-hand staircase rather than the central ramp. At the top, turn left and follow the catwalk to the end. The log is on a crate beside a sleeping bag. Reason to go up first: the mezzanine gives you overwatch on the entire atrium floor, so you can clear the zone from above before dropping down to the sub-level — this saves roughly two minutes per attempt versus clearing from ground level.

Pickup 5 — Recorded Call, Sub-level 1 — the one everyone misses

Before you interact with the breaching charge in the atrium centre, find the maintenance hatch behind the forklift on the left wall. Drop through it into Sub-level 1.

  • Follow the corridor past the first junction.
  • At the T-junction, go right — the left branch is a dead end with no intel.
  • The Recorded Call is on the floor beside a tipped-over chair.
  • Return to the hatch and climb back out before touching the breaching charge.

Why the order matters: planting the breaching charge triggers a scripted collapse that permanently seals the maintenance hatch, and there is no checkpoint between the breach and the server hall. The most common cause of a 8/9 completion run is grabbing this pickup after the breach rather than before.

Zone 3: The Server Hall (pickups 6–7)

Pickup 6 — Evidence File, Cold Aisle

After the breach, take the left-hand aisle rather than the centre. Two armoured enemies patrol the cold aisle — a shock charge or a well-placed semtex handles the pair without alerting the rest of the hall. The Server Rotation Sheet is pinned to the end of rack 14.

Pickup 7 — Cipher Fragment, Rack 22

This is the only pickup in Reckoning that requires a gadget. Deploy your recon drone and fly it through the vent grate above rack 22 (roughly 4 metres up the rack face). On the far side of the grate is a small equipment closet containing the Cipher Fragment.

Reason it’s drone-gated: the closet has no door and no destructible wall. Without the recon drone, or with the drone on cooldown, you cannot reach it — so make sure your drone is off cooldown before you commit to the breach, and don’t burn it scouting the atrium.

Time budget for the full run

Segment Combat time Intel detour Notes
Docks 4–6 min +4–5 min Bolt-cutter detour and container search
Atrium 3–5 min +4–6 min Mezzanine clear plus sub-level backtrack
Server Hall 5–7 min +3–4 min Drone flight adds a hard pause
Roof 4–6 min +2–3 min Timed; exfil wave starts on a timer
Total 16–24 min +13–18 min On Veteran, add roughly 8–10 min

Zone 4: The Roof (pickups 8–9)

Pickup 8 — Audio Log, Helipad Control

As soon as you emerge onto the roof, turn right instead of heading for the objective marker. Helipad Control is a small glass booth overlooking the pad. The log is on the console. Timing: the exfil sequence spawns an enemy wave on a countdown that begins when you reach the roof, so grab this one first — the booth door will not open once the wave starts.

Pickup 9 — Audio Log, Maintenance Stairwell

From Helipad Control, continue past the pad to the far corner of the roof. There’s an unmarked stairwell door leading down to a maintenance landing. The last Audio Log is at the bottom of the first flight. It is entirely off the critical path and gives no objective marker once the exfil countdown is live, which is why players finish at 8/9 more often than any other number.

If you finish at 8/9

Reload the Server Hall cleared checkpoint rather than restarting the mission. That checkpoint preserves everything from the docks, atrium and server hall, and you only need to redo the roof — the two roof pickups take about three minutes combined. Restarting from mission start costs you roughly 20 minutes of re-clearing for no benefit.

Pickup checklist order for a single clean run

  • Pier 4 log → cutters → Crane Office file → red-twistlock container log
  • Right staircase → mezzanine log → maintenance hatch → sub-level call → back out
  • Breach → cold aisle file → drone through rack 22 vent → fragment
  • Roof → Helipad Control log → far-corner stairwell log → exfil

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Reckoning intel locations random?

No. The nine pickup positions are fixed. The only variable is the colour coding on the Container Row log in the docks zone, which the game re-rolls each run — the marker always points at the correct container, so follow the in-world icon rather than a memorised container number.

Can I still get the sub-level Recorded Call after planting the breaching charge?

No. The breach seals the maintenance hatch permanently, and there is no checkpoint in between. If you’ve already breached, reload the Warehouse entry checkpoint and grab the pickup before triggering the charge.

Do I need the recon drone for any intel in Reckoning?

Only for the Cipher Fragment at rack 22 in the server hall. The other eight pickups are reachable on foot with no gadget requirement. Make sure the drone is off cooldown when you enter the server hall, since you cannot deploy it mid-breach.

What does the Reckoning intel actually unlock?

Eight of the nine pickups add to your campaign completion percentage and unlock dossier entries in the safehouse. The ninth — the Cipher Fragment — decrypts at the safehouse terminal into a permanent increase to field upgrade charge rate, making it the only one with a gameplay effect.

How long does a full Reckoning intel run take?

Expect roughly 30–40 minutes on Regular, split between 16–24 minutes of combat and 13–18 minutes of detour time. Veteran difficulty adds a further 8–10 minutes because the docks and server hall sections require slower, more methodical clears.

Will collecting intel carry over if I restart the mission?

Yes. Intel pickups are tracked at the profile level, not per-checkpoint, so anything you’ve already collected stays collected even if you restart. That means a partial run followed by a checkpoint reload is more efficient than a full replay whenever you miss a single item.
